At an arms reach 

So I don’t get cut too deep 

But ending it this way 

With the right words to push you away

Because it's from this new darkness I speak 

And this new weakness in you I seek...

Better off dead or on my own

Seeing I will always stand alone

Remembering why I am this way

So as this light fades away  

This is the distance at which I stay

Because I will always push everyone away

The pooling of the fear was never seen, as he kept it all inside

Each tear was one more drop into the sea he was trying to navigate 

Under the cover of a wicked smile, he lied

As a man no one could see him

Pooling until it was finally in this pain he cried 

Tears forming as blood in his hands 

Showing how much he could take was never part of the plan

A long drive 

A whisper as the wind whips by 

The cross roads of my heart 

Every mile and memory 

The curves of the road up ahead 

Chasing the sight of you in the high beams 

Singing the songs I sang to you till the end 

So as the tires roar on the road and the rain falls 

Its like the crying of my heart after letting go 

Now all I can do is chase 

Hoping to find the answer to all this pain 

But a million miles I have drove 

With the answers still eluding me on which way to go 

It's the steering wheel I let go 

Letting the Lord take me down his road
